Five Cubs pitchers held the Cardinals to just three hits. Before I get to the recap of this game, I want to note that the Cubs finished said first half with a 48-33 record.
All of that added up to an 8-0 Cubs shutout of the Cardinals, ending the team’s three-game losing streak. The Cubs remain the only team in MLB this year to have not lost four in a row at least once.
