Since November 2023, Jones has ducked the UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Aspinall on numerous occasions, and is planning on doing so once again as he has already called Ngannou out. Despite reigning as the interim titleholder for 573 days, Aspinall has been constantly avoided by the champion.

It remains to be seen whether Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall will fight each other, but the former took to social media to suggest he will give up his heavyweight title before it is stripped.
