A man named Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes attacked and poured gasoline on Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler before setting him on fire, according to Virginia police.

Danville Police Sgt. G.A. Clay wrote in a criminal complaint: "Vogler advised multiple people that Shotsie Michael Buck-Hayes was responsible for burning him. Buck-Hayes was taken into custody and during an interview admitted that he had dumped gasoline onto Vogler. Furthermore, Buck-Hayes advised Sgt. Clay that his intention was to kill Vogler."

Danville City Councilman J. Lee Vogler, 38, was confronted by a man at his office around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, who then poured gasoline on him. Once they both left the building, Vogler was then set on fire.
