The Guardians went into the All-Star break hot, and they emerged the same way Friday night at Progressive Field. Slade Cecconi pitched into the ninth inning, and the Guardians struck hard and fast against lefty JP Sears on the way to a 8-6 win over the A’s.

Said extension stems from an agreement between MLB's league office and the MLB Players Association.
