A spokesperson for the Texas Christian sleepaway camp, Camp Mystic, has released a statement saying that the camp director may not have seen an important alert from the National Weather Service moments before the flood occurred.

Surviving campers sang hymns as they drove past the damage left by the floods. Days earlier, they were having fun and playing games at the all-girls Christian summer camp.

Camp Mystic's executive director began evacuating campers approximately 45 minutes after the National Weather Service issued a "life-threatening flash flooding" alert.
