There’s a new tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, and two other disturbances that have a shot to get names as well. The National Hurricane Center named Tropical Storm Dexter late Sunday while it was several hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina. Dexter is headed away from the United States, however.

Tropical Storm Dexter formed Sunday night. The system started as an area of interest late last week and it rapidly developed into a tropical storm with 45 mph wind speeds upon the first advisory issued at 11 p.

Tropical Storm Dexter, the fourth named storm of the season, formed Sunday night as two other disturbances move in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center. None of the systems pose an immediate threat to Louisiana.
