Eight unanswered runs made me proverbially rip up all that electronic text, and instead the Cubs had yet another incredible come-from-behind win, 11-8 over the Reds, in so doing taking the series. Coming back from that five-run deficit made this the Cubs’ biggest comeback win of 2025 to date.

After the Cubs jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning off Reds starter Nick Lodolo, Hays put the Reds on the scoreboard with an RBI single. Then, Jose Trevino's RBI single with two outs scored Elly De La Cruz, who reached on a fielder's choice.

The Reds led after six innings in both losses in the series. Once the lead goes, Cincinnati's bats have gone silent.
