At WWE SummerSlam 2025, CM Punk will be getting another World Heavyweight Championship match, but this time against Gunther.

Gunther defeated Goldberg at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 2025, ending the WCW icon's legendary career in Atlanta.

Once Saturday Night's Main Event was off the air, Gunther offered his candid assessment of Goldberg's career in the ring. The world heavyweight champion was a guest on WWE's SNME recap show with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant and had the final word on his rivalry with the Hall of Famer.

Gunther officially has his challenger for his title at WWE SummerSlam, and it’s none other than The Voice of the Voiceless. During Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk competed in a Gauntlet Match. The winner would get a title shot at SummerSlam,

WWE Raw will set the World Heavyweight Championship match for WWE SummerSlam with a massive gauntlet match. We will also see the fallout from WWE Evolution which put a new star at the top of the WWE Raw women’s division.

Goldberg's last match pits him against Gunther in Atlanta, even as injuries and family tragedy cloud his farewell.

Overshadowing all of the in-ring action was what appeared to be a serious-looking knee injury to Seth Rollins, one of the most important and talented performers on WWE's roster.

Gunther submitted Goldberg via rear-naked choke in the main event of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. This marked Goldberg's last match (for now).

On Monday's edition of WWE Raw, CM Punk was able to pick up a huge victory, securing his spot at WWE SummerSlam.
