The "Real Time" host was full of pop-culture references Friday in trouncing the apparent end of one of America's most controversial relationships.

After Trump officially relieved Musk from his DOGE duties last week, giving him a ceremonial key to complement the occasion, the president seems to have quickly changed the locks as he claimed that the billionaire’s presence had worn “thin” in the White House.

The HBO host walked viewers through the beef blow-by-blow: Musk slammed Trump’s “big beautiful bill” as a “disgusting abomination,” Trump accused Musk of having “Trump derangement syndrome,” and Musk warned that Trump’s tariff plans could spark a recession — or as Maher accidentally (and hilariously) said, an “erection.”
