Elon Musk-owned xAI on Monday sued tech giants Apple and OpenAI over an alleged scheme to illegally dominate the artificial intelligence industry through a collaboration that equipped iPhones with AI tools.

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI and Bastrop-based X sued Apple and OpenAI for billions of dollars in U.S. Federal Court in Texas on Monday over alleged anticompetitive practices related to chatbots and smartphones.

Mr. Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, claimed that its Grok chatbot app was being artificially suppressed in Apple’s App Store.
