A community-driven project in Makhanda has opened up at least 1,600 job opportunities, while creating a clean and safe environment. Locals are being trained to recycle plastic, glass, and even drain waste - with some of it being turned into paving blocks. Newzroom Afrika’s Sipha Kema has the details. Mengo 1932: Uganda’s native King extols British rule. The Kabaka of Buganda Daudi Chwa spoke in English. He ascended to the throne in August 1897 following the deposition of his father Kabaka Mwanga by British Forces. At the time of his coronation, he was only one year old. He died in 1939. | History of Uganda
